Centre approves super speciality hospitals in hills

The central government has sanctioned Rs 10,466.11 lakh to the state government for the project, "Providing super speciality and assured speciality health care in remote and hills districts (Infrastructure & Equipment) in Manipur" under the Prime Minister's Development Initiative for North East Region (PM-DevINE).
According to a letter of Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region addressed.
to Manipur chief secretary, the central government has granted Administrative and Financial Sanction (AFS) of Rs 10,466.11 lakh with regard to the aforementioned project.
As such, the people in hill districts (Chandel, Ukhrul, Jiribam, Senapati, and Tamenglong) will benefit from advanced medical facilities, including CT Scans, MRI, and ICU services, ensuring super-specialty and assured specialty care closer to their homes.
A medical college, Churachandpur Medical College, has already been established in Churachandpur district, it mentioned.
The initiative under PM-DevINE is a reflection of the Ministry's commitment to bridging the gap in healthcare infrastructure and bringing quality medical services to every citizen, irrespective of their geographical location, the letter stated.
