Shija Hospitals excels at COMET 2.0

Imphal, September 19 2026:
Shija Hospitals & Research Institute, Imphal has made a strong mark at COMET 2.0 (Conclave of Medical Emergencies and Trauma) held from September 11 to 13 at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, Lucknow.
A team of four residents from Department of Emergency Medicine - Dr Azhar Kamal Ansari, Dr Maibam Kushajit Singh, Dr Sanjay G Karlattimatt and Dr Muhammed Shadil KE - represented Shija in Battle of the Bays, a two-day emergency simulation competition testing clinical decision-making, teamwork and emergency response.
Competing against six teams from across India, Team Shija emerged champion and won a cash prize of Rs 10,000 .
Dr Sweta Khuraijam, Associate Professor, Department of Emergency Medicine, was invited as Guest Faculty and delivered a session on "Paediatric Emergency Updates 2026" .
In paper presentations, Dr Seram Rajshree Devi, Senior Resident, presented on "Impact of Implementing a Stroke Pathway in the Emergency Department and Its Outcomes" while Dr Azhar Kamal Ansari secured third prize.
The recognition at a national platform highlights the growing contribution of healthcare professionals from Manipur and Northeast to emergency medicine in India.
