Imphal, July 26 2010:
Transporters' and Drivers' Council has said that the reported arrangement made by the Union Home Minister of transporting fuel and food grains on NH-39 is a challenge to the transporters and people of the State.
The council alleged that the Minister kept mum at the the time when UNC, ANSAM and NSF imposed blockade on the highway for two months.
It rued that no action has been taken up so far by Central Government and Nagaland Government on Council's plea to compensate the owners whose vehicles have been burnt down.
Reiterating its stand not to ply vehicles until their demands are fulfilled, the Council also urged the owners and drivers not to operate service on NH-39 .
