A committee headed by Chief Secretary as chairman has been looking into the anomalies with regard to inclusion of villages in the hills districts under Autonomous District Councils as well as under Gram Panchayats, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has informed the Assembly today.
In response to a question raised by MLA Thangkholun Haokip during the question hour session of the Assembly today, Chief Minister O IBobi Singh, who is also the leader of the House admitted that many of the villages in Chandel and other hill districts which located along the foothills have enjoying double benefit by virtue of inclusion in both under Autonomous District Councils and Gram Panchayats.
All these anomalies are being looked into by a committed headed by Chief Secretary as the chairman, the Chief Minister informed, while assuring that appropriate action would be taken up once the Govt receives the report of the Committee.
In response to another question raised by MLA Dr Kh Ratankumar, the Chief Minister informed the House that from 2007-08 to 2009-10, MAHUD Department has sanctioned Rs 114.96 lakhs to Mayang Imphal Municipal Council.
However, utilisation certificates against the fund released in 2009-10 under the 12th Finance Commission and 2nd State Finance Commission as well as under Swarna Jayenti Shahari Rojgar Yojana are yet to be received.
PAC recommendations: Along with tabling the 34th report of Public Account Committee (PAC) of the Assembly in its ongoing session today, Committee chairman O Joy has expressed unhappiness over the fact that most Departments did not submit their respective action taken reports.
Out of 813 recommendations that the Committee have adopted for the various departments to take up necessary action, the action taken reports have been submitted only for 33 recommendations while the rest are still pending, O Joy informed the House.
It is not the right thing to keep the recommendations of the Committee, which are supposed to be implemented within six months, in cold storage, he added.
