Imphal, November 04 2026: The Nongpok Pana Apunba Lup (NONGPAL) has stated that frequent vehicular accidents have occurred along the road stretch from Kongpal Iranpham Thongkhong to the foothills of Nongmaiching Since it was concreted.

In a press note, NONGPAL convenor L Vivekananda said that the road boundaries have not been properly maintained, although the road was concreted about a month and a half ago.

He said that the road width has shrunk after it was concreted, making it difficult for even two cars to pass each other.

He further said that the gap between the concrete road and its boundary is about 6-7 inches high, causing considerable inconvenience to commuters.

Stating that the route is an important road in Imphal East, he urged the Government to properly level the road boundaries.

He said that NONGPAL will launch an agitation if the demand is not heeded.
