AR organises cycle rally to commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas

In a dual endeavour to commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas and advance the objectives of the 'Fit India Initiative', Assam Rifles, under the conducted a spirited cycle rally from Kakching to the iconic Khongjom War Memorial.
According to a release issued by the IGAR (South), the rally was aimed at honouring the unmatched bravery of Kargil heroes, while simultaneously nurturing a culture of sports and inclusivity in keeping with the ethos of the Khelo India Scheme.
Sixty-five enthusiasts, comprising Assam Rifles personnel and members of the Kakching District Police, united for this occasion, exemplifying camaraderie and the collective pursuit of physical fitness, environmental awareness and national pride.
The route, winding through the picturesque landscapes of the valley, lent a poignant backdrop to a journey culminating at the historic Khongjom War Memorial, itself a powerful emblem of India's martial tradition and courage.
The rally stood as both a heartfelt tribute to the valour of the Kargil War heroes and a resounding call to embrace an active and healthy lifestyle.
Meanwhile, the Assam Rifles also organized a vibrant cycle rally at Tungam Khullen, Paomata Sub-Division, Senapati District, Manipur on Sunday to commemorate Vijay Diwas.
The event was conducted under the "Khelo India" programme, an initiative by the Government of India aimed at promoting health, fitness, and sports culture across the nation.
The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation of 35 cyclists from various villages cycling on a stretch on National Highway 102A near Tungam Khullen, said the IGAR (S) .
