Thoubal Celebrated 64th Wildlife Week 2019

Thoubal, October 04 2019: Divisional Forest Office Thoubal organized the 64th Wildlife Week Celebration, 2019 which kicked off yesterday at Institute of Rural Education- IRE (College of Teacher Education) Wangjing in ThoubaI district under the theme, 'The Future of Wildlife is in our hands' .

ACF Thoubal Vaneichong Singson said that the forest division organized three divisional level competitions as Level I- "On-spot Painting Competition" for classes V-VIII, level II - "Quiz competition" for Classes IX & X, level III- "Debate competition" and Level IV "Slogan Writing Competition for classes XI & XII .

15 Schools came from different parts of the district to participate in the competitions, it said.

Vaneichong Singson also announced that the first prize winners in the quiz competition and debate competition will represent ThoubaI Forest Division at the State Level Quiz and Debate competitions slated for October 5 in Imphal.

During the function, prizes were distributed to the winners of each category of spot painting, quiz, Slogan Writing and debate competitions.

In the painting competition, Laishram Shirinivash of Ruda Academy Thoubal secured the 1st position, Sweety Wahengbam of Ruda Academy Thoubal at 2nd position while Adishwar Akoijam of Sofia English School Thoubal finished at 3rd position.

In the quiz competition, the pair of Moses Thokchom, Alexander Chingtham and Shidharth Mayengbam of Khongjom Standard English School stood 1st, the team of Bishwornath and Hirthik of Khongjom Standard English School secured the 2nd place while team of L Rohit, H Dayananda and N Thanil of Advance Learner School Heirok finished at 3rd position.

In the debating competition, Takhellambam Jemmy of Progressive English School Lamding was declared the best supporter, Md Azawuddin of Khongjom Standard English School at 2nd Position while Somorjit Chingtham of Slopland Public School Khongjom finished at 3rd position.

Takhellambam Jemmy are Nominated for the State Level Debete to be Conducted at Forest Head Office Sanjenthong on 5th October.

In the Slogan Writing Competition, Ayingbi Narengba of Lamding Higher Sec School secured the 1st position, Sorokhaibam Saya Devi of Lamding Hr Sec School at 2nd position, Md Azawddin of Khongjom Standard English School at 3rd Position while Yumnam Thoi Devi of Lamding Hr Sec School and Ningtam Laishram of Slopland Public School Khongjom finished at 4th and 5th position.

Apart from dignitaries,DFO Thoubal L Debala, Range Officer of ThoubaI S Samungou, RO Kakching N Iboyaima, L Dhananjoy Forestor Thoubal, BO Yairipok M Biren, BO Pallel Md Sallao, BO Wangoo Md Aslam, Wildlife Warden Ramchandra and Staffs of DFO ThoubaI also participated in the celebration.
