Smugglers held

Imphal, January 18 2015:
Based on specific intelligence input regarding smuggling of contraband items, troops of 6 Dogra of 26 Sector AR under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (South) established a vehicle check post at Kangbarol on Chayang road and apprehended five individuals carrying contraband fertiliser (Mukta Urea) on January 16 .
The suspicious vehicle, bearing registration number MN-07/E-0131, travelling from Sugnu village to Molcham village was stopped for checking and 100 bags of fertiliser recovered, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S) .
Each bag contains 50 kgs of Nitrogen worth Rs 1,00,00,000, added the press release.
Rs 6,25,000, one driving licence, one PAN card and four mobile phones along with four SIM cards were also recovered from the possession of the arrested persons.
The apprehendees have been identified as T Thingpao Kuki (49) s/o Solkhogam Kuki of Langching village in Chandel district, Shojang Kuki (52) s/o Pilahonj Kuki of Langching in Chandel district, Lunkholal Haokip s/o Shonneh Haokip (26) of Vongmol village in Churachandpur district, Thanboi Haokip (35) s/o MR Shonneh Haokip of Vongmol village and Ngamjathang s/o Limkhojam (19) of Molcham village.
The apprehendees along with the recovered items have been handed over to Chandel police station, added the press release.
