Churachandpur, February 17 2023:
Due to the ongoing cease work strike launched by doctors under the aegis of All Manipur Medical Services' Association, patients coming for treatment at Churachandpur District Hospital are forced to seek service at private hospitals.
One vivid case in point has been denial of treatment to an injured woman at the district hospital as she was welcomed by closed door of the hospital when she went there.
One Lhingkhomei Kipgen wife of Ngamkholen Kipgen of Sharonphai village under Samulamlan subdivision of Churachandpur suffered multiple bullet wounds.
She suffered bullet injuries on her palm and chest after gun shots by hunters chasing wild animal hit her.
She was rushed to the district hospital for treatment but found the door of the casualty ward of the hospital shut.
There was nobody to attend to her medical need and as a result her family took her to Sielmat Christian Hospital and admitted there spending huge expenditure.
Similarly, reports have been received about other patients returning home dejectedly or heading to private healthcare centres as the district hospital did not entertained patients.
Meanwhile, family members of injured Lhingkhomei have appealed to the hunters concerned to voluntarily reveal their identities and tender unconditional apology.
