Imphal, July 27 2025: The All Manipur Arts and Culture Students' Union (AMACSU) has urged the Art and Culture department to issue a clarification regarding the appointment of its Programme Officer within 15 days.

Speaking to the media at Manipur Press Club, AMACSU vice president Shamurailatpam Abung Sharma stated that despite submitting their opposition to the department's notification on November 8, 2024 regarding the appointment rules, the Programme Officer was appointed without addressing their concerns.

He emphasized that the Programme Officer should be well-versed in Manipur's art and culture.

He urged the department to confirm whether the appointed officer meets the essential qualifications for the role, highlighting that there are many qualified candidates for the post He warned that they will launch an agitation if their demand is not entertained.
