AS PER complaint coming to the knowledge of the Commander of the Joint Task Force, Human Resource (JTF-HR) of the KYKL-UNLF, an investigation had been done by the JTF (HR) on the matter of issuance of students' identity cards and favouritism of the Election Committee of MUSU, the statement said.

Against the backdrop of the parameters of refusal of issuance of identity card to genuine MU students and the defective conduct of the election committee, the finding of the JCC of KYKL-UNLF observes that the issuance of identity cards and election of MUSU is never related.

Identity card has become an important entity in every day activities of a person and it is very important for the students to carry it with them at this time when one can be easily killed, the statement observes while pointing out that it is a great fault on the part of the Dean of Students' Welfare Prof Md.Islamuddin for not issuing identity card to students.

It said that every genuine student of the University has the inalienable right to cast their vote in the students' union election which can in no way be suppressed.

That the conduct of Prof Islamuddin in misusing his authority to please a particular students' group has proved his partiality, the JCC statement further observes.

It said that the Dean has carried out his work with bias attitude openly which is 'unethical' and uncalled for.

On the conduct of the Election Committee, the finding of the JTF (HR) also notes that the time frame for the last date of filing nominations (April 18) and the issuance of election notification (April 15) was too short and in between their was no adequate time to obtain Class XII pass original certificate by intending candidates.

The statement said that some students of the varsity from far flung areas had to miss the nomination filing process as they went to their respective places to cast their vote for the Parliamentary election on April 16 .

As such, it is also no acceptable to give power to the Election Committee by the MUSU's constitution to fix the date of the election hesitantly.

No person or god will accept the 'unconstitutional' decision which is not acceptable by arbitrarily misusing the power, the JCC took note.

Therefore, the KYKL-UNLF urged the authority to issue I-cards to all genuine students to ensure all students exercise their voting rights in the MUSU poll, the JCC statement signed by Lanngamba Mangang and Ibochou directs.

The MUSU election committee must call off the proposed election on April 24, the statement demanded.

It adds that another date for the election must be fixed and the process must be chanelised without any bias after correcting all the flaws and provide equal rights to every students of the university in casting their vote.

The statement further said that the present election-related incident has clearly exposed the fortified 'clique of corrupt conduct' in MU while adding that some authorities, teachers, and some students who act as the bug, have colluded to make it a safe base for corrupt practice.

It said that the 'clique' makes it a point to make that its members are recommended in selection of teachers, appointment in the university, and regarding promotion of employees and they are unceasingly attempting to make it a protected base camp for their operation.

The student community will endure irreparable loss if the lone university, intended to groom and produce excellent students, is not saved from the clutch of the 'clique' which is making the university its secure base.

The Secretary of P&R, KYKL, Lanngamba Mangang and Deputy Secretary (Org) of the UNLF, Ibochou lastly appealed likeminded teachers and students of the university as well as the people to extend support in the efforts of the KYKL-UNLF which is launching a campaign to ruin the unwanted clique in the University.
