International Victim Day observed

PAN Hills and Plains Reformist League organized the 2nd International Victim Day at Rupmahal Theatre today commemorating those people who were victimized on different reasons across the globe.
Asian Ministries, International Guwahati Director and Reverend Tutihing Shimaray, Universal Mothers' Organization (UMO) president M Sorojini, Universal Family Organization president Ng Nilakanta Khuman, Ranjoy Plastic Industry proprietor Kh Ratankumar Singh and International Human Rights and Legal and Justice Cell former secretary general LM Sana among others graced the function as chief guest, president and special invitees respectively.
Speaking at the function, Sana recounted the cases of rape and murder by the security forces and gross human violations the took place in the State.
He said that justice on many of the shocking incidents related to human rights violation which allegedly involved security forces are yet to be delivered till today.
Asserting that the infamous rape case of a lady at Kumbram Village in 1974 was one among such cases which sent shocking wave to the whole State, he said that it is high time that the people of the State, irrespective of community and religion unite and stood up against all kinds of injustices taking place in the State.
He also urged all people in the State to self introspect whether they are able to live with dignity and accessible to full human rights in the present society.
Many other speakers also spoke on human rights violations in the State under the draconian AFSPA.
A drama titled "Laisio Rose Ningshen" was also released and showcased during the function.
