Imphal, September 19 2026:
The Indian Youth Congress' campaign "Meri Degree Ka Kya?" (What about my degree?) has been launched in the State too.
Launching the campaign at Congress Bhavan, BT Road here today, Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC) president Wahengbam Anand said that millions of youth across the country with degree certificates have been facing unemployment.
This sharp spike in the unemployment rate is a creation of the NDA Government, he said.
The campaign is basically about raising pertinent questions to the NDA Government regarding the unemployment of millions of youth with degree certificates, Anand said.
He said that over 50 lakh sanctioned posts are lying vacant in public sector undertakings at present.
The Government ought to recruit eligible youth to these vacant posts.
The Government's failure to make recruitments to the vacant posts has disillusioned the unemployed youth and severely undermined all their hard work, the MPYC president said.
In spite of repeated appeals and reminders to address the growing issue of unemployment, the NDA Government has done nothing to address the burgeoning issue, he said.
He added that the NDA Government has failed to take up any policy or programme for the welfare of youth.
