Imphal, July 14 2010:
United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) has strongly denounced the increasing rampant abductions and killings of innocent civilians in connection with monetary demands in the name of people's liberation movement by certain organised gangsters, which often proved the naked truth of the involvement of security personnel.
In such a chaotic and complex situation, the UKLF in its desire for peaceful co-existence and equal share of development, has ceased its hostile activities against the State in the form of Suspension of Operations (SoO), said a press release issued by its Information and Publicity secretary JM Zou.
He claimed, unfortunately, some elements and some Imphal-based media reportedly mentioned UKLF in derailing developmental works and in the abduction of non-Manipuri cement trader without any spot verification and authentication, just to malign the image of the front.
JM Zou said that in fact the place/location where the captive was rescued, ie Imphal East bordering Sadar Hills is not an operational area of UKLF but for KNA wing number VI.
The secretary further clarified that the outfit was not involved in the abduction of a petty businessman, which has nothing to do with revolutionary movement.
He said that UKLF is of the firm belief in the principle that without economic prosperity of the 'starved land', the revolutionary process would not be able to march forward as desired.
All the working communities/class irrespective of native and outsiders, rich and poor, small and big traders must altruistically contribute and unite for the State to prosper and bloom, JM Zou opined.
