Imphal, November 04 2026: The 23rd remembrance ceremony of Lungnila Elizabeth was observed today at Debala Multipurpose Auditorium, Sangai Bazaar Complex, Takhellambam Konjil.

The ceremony began with floral tributes to the photo of the deceased and a two-minute silence praying for her soul to rest in peace.

Speaking on the occasion, Managing Director of Thoithoi Adventure Park, Kh Inaoba said the family has been organising the remembrance ceremony every year.

It is a prayer to the almighty that such tragic and painfill incidents do not recur.

He said in earlier years the ceremony was held on a large scale, but since 2023 it has been held in a smaller manner due to the unrest in the State.

He prayed that displaced people return to their homes soon and peace prevails in Manipur.

It may be recalled that on November 3, 2003, 8-year-old Lungnila Elizabeth, then a Class HI student was kidnapped by unknown persons from the gate of Little Flower School where she studied.

Her lifeless body was found at Sadokpam on November 12 of the same year.
