Jiribam, November 03 2026: Students have called off the protest of locking Jiribam Higher Secondary School from today following the temporary arrangement of a Computer Science teacher by the Education Department.

It may be noted that the school remained locked from October 28 against the transfer of the lone Computer Science teacher.

Addressing media persons, AMSU District Committee secretary, Meinam Rohit said that the protest led by student bodies namely AMSU, DESAM, KSA and MSF has been called off upon the receipt of the notification of a temporary arrangement of Computer Science teacher in the school and in view of the upcoming BOSEM and COHSEM examinations in the interest of the students.

He also appealed to the Government to refrain from politicising the education sector and address the shortage of teachers issue in Jiribam district for the wellbeing of the students.
