The Organizing Committee of the 87th Martyrdom of Haipou Jadonang which was held yesterday, at Leishangkhong Zeliangrong village, Wangoi, Imphal West district, has expressed gratitude to Chief Minister N Biren Singh who graced the programme as the chief guest in spite of his heavy and tied scheduled, and Lukhoi Singh, MLA Wangoi A/C, the functional president, Pou Athuan Abonmai, president, Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur&Nagaland), convenor and members of the Finance Committee of the 87th Martyrdom observance who contributed and rendered maximum efforts for the success of the programme, comperes who led the order of the programme, leaders of various social organizations who came from different places especially from Nagaland and Assam, ADC Members, Panchayati Members, Bureaucrats and Government officers, Meira Paibis and Women's Organizations' leaders, youths and students, Leishangkhong youths who performed magnificent warrior dance, AZACO team, Ajei Kamei and Koko Phaomei who presented beautiful and meaningful songs to HaipouJadonangmovement, police and security personnel for the efficient m easures related to security,mediapersons,Khullak and Thoubei and villagers of Leishangkhong village, KB groups of enterprises forthe hall and decoration, Thangjam for 200 half litre water bottles and all the people irrespective of different walk of life and communities who attended and extended full cooperation and support for grand success of the event.
A press release issued by the chairman of the organising committee mentioned that ZeliangrongCivil Organizations namely Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur& Nagaland), Zeliangrong Youth Front (Assam, Manipur& Nagaland) and Zeliangrong Students' Union jointly organized the 87th Martyrdom observance of Haipou Jadonangin Imphal and it was also held in Delhi, Haflong Assam, Shillong, Peren Nagalandetc.
The Organizing Committee and the Zeliangrong Civil Organizations on behalf of the Zeliangrong people also expressed full confidence that the assurance of the Chief Minister regarding the proposal for declaring the Martyrdom day of Haipou Jadonang on the August 29 every year as State Holiday will be discussed in the Cabinet for necessary action at the earliest in the interest of the people.
