Speaker wishes; bodies warn against revelries

Imphal, December 30 2024: Manipur Legislative Assembly speaker Th Satyabrata Singh extended New Year greetings and best wishes to all.

In his message, speaker Satyabrata exhorted all to carry forward the spirit of harmony and determination that define 'us' .

"May the New Year bring joy, health and success to all.

Together, we can overcome any challenge and build a brighter, more inclusive future for Manipur," he wished.

Meanwhile, civil organisations have issued warnings, cautioning against any form of revelry in connection with the year-end and New Year's celebrations.

In a release, Kangleipak Lamjing Apunba Mciralup (KANGLAMEI) opposed any form of 'Bye Bye' and New Year celebrations, cautioning that anyone found doing so would be responsible for any consequences and accept the punishment given by the organisation.

Star Club, Moirangkampu Sajeb and Kshetrigao Meitei Pangal United Club also issued notices banning any form of celebrations in their respective areas such as Chingkhci Ching, Yaralpat, Tinsid Ching and Kshetrigao.
