Chakka bandh affects Ukhrul

Ukhrul, July 14 2010: The 72-hour chakka bandh called by ANSAM in Naga areas against what it described as the 'suppressive acts' of the State Government seriously affected normal life in Ukhrul district as well.

On account of the bandh, inter-district bus and taxi services stayed off the road since 6 pm of July 12 .

However, educational institutions, PHED, Electricity and many other Government offices were seen opened during the bandh.

There is no report of any untoward incident from any part of the district.
