Society urges 15-min stoppage at Jiribam Railway station

Imphal, April 07 2023: Unique Society, Jiribam has urged authorities concerned for stopping passenger trains for at-least 15 minutes at Jiribam Railway Station to facilitate convenient boarding by the passengers.

In a letter addressed to CPTM-Maligaon, COM Maligaon, Sr DOM Lum-ding and Sr DCM Lumding through station superintendent Jiribam Manipur Indian Railways, Unique Society secretary G Romen said that around 45,000 people are settling or staying in Jiribam and a huge number of them travel for work by train since train service started last year.

However, due to the increasing congestion at Jiribam railway station, it is difficult for the passengers to board trains comfortably in the given time.

Many a time, due to the congestion, the people got injured, he pointed out, while urging to provide 15 minute stoppage at Jiribam Railway station for the passenger trains.
