Demon-strations demanding enfor- cement of a legislation to check influx of migrants in the State continue today too .
Theatre artistes today staged a sit-in-protest in front of the Times Star Artist Union office at Governor Road joining in the popular demand for ILP.
Speaking to media persons, Times Star Artist Union assistant secretary S Sana Meitei said the people's demand for ILP is most suitable considering the unchecked influx of non-locals into the State.
The union while decrying the killing of Sapam Robin-hood expressed its heartfelt sympathy for the bereaved family members.
A similar protest was seen at Keibi Awang Leikai organised by womenfolk of Taret Khun, Keibi Kumuda, Lamboi Khun, Keibi Mayai and Awang Leikai and Tiger camp.
Yumnam Patlou Meira Paibi and Phumlou Meira Paibi Lup organised a sit-in at Yumnam Patlou.
President of MAPI council, Th Manihar, president of ICHAM N Rajendro (Boy) addressed the participants during the sit-in.
Taothang Apunba Semgat-Sagatpa Lup, Sunshine Youth Club, Taothang Ayungba Yaipha-Thourang Nupee Lup, Taothang Khunou Meira Paibi and Lamdeng Khunou Meira Paibi jointly organised a sit-in yesterday at the market shed of Taothang Lamkhai.
The demonstrators shouted slogans demanding ILPS implementation, inclusion of the five points raised by JCILPS in the fresh Bill, protection of indigenous people, punishment against personnel involved in the killing of S Robinhood, etc.
The sit-in ended with observance of two-minute silence as a mark of respect to Sapam Robinhood, said a statement.
The organisers further pledged to join any agitation launch by JCILPS for the protection of indigenous people.
At the same time, the Wangoi Higher Secondary School Students' Union has pledged to join the ILPS demand movement until the goal is achieved.
In a statement, the union while strongly condemning the killing of Sapam Robinhood demanded fitting action the police personnel involved in the killing.
The union also mourn the demise of Robinhood.
It further urged the Govt to facilitate reopening of educational institutions at the earliest.
Demanding implementation of ILP in the State, sit-in protest and public meeting were held today at Yairipok New Market, reports our correspondent.
Protesters demanded the State Government to punish the police personnel involved in the killing of Sapam Robinhood and to release the arrested students unconditionally.
Advocate Arjun Teilheiba, co-convenor, JCILPS, AK Memcha Leima, co-convenor, JCILPS Women's Wing and Tensubam Leishembam, secretary, Yelhoumee Khunnai Kanba Lup spoke elaborately on the Inner Line Permit System.
The sit-in cum public meeting was attended by Laimanai Youth Club, Yairipok, Bamol Leikai Youth Club, Yairipok, Bishnunaha Youth Federation, Yairipok, Social Economic Development Organisation, Yairipok Bazar, Shipai Leikai Guidance Club, Yairipok and Meitei Baptist Church, Yairipok Bamol Leikai.
Students and teachers of Ever Green Flower School held a rally and formed a human chain demanding enforcement of ILP in the State.
A joint sit-in was organised by Sahitya Seva Samiti, Kakching and Film Forum Manipur at Kakching Keithel and was joined by Macha Chanu, Kakching, Kakching Dramatic Union, Liberty Theatre, Kakching, Kakching Bazar Business Welfare Association and vendors of Kakching Keithel.
Sit-ins were staged by Grace Reach Academy, Hiyanglam, ANK English Academy, Langmeidong.
Kakching Khunou Winger and Magic Association in collaboration with Pangantabi Tata Magic Association, Tokpaching Tata Magic Association, All Kakching Khunou Meira Paibi Forum also held a sit-in protest.
They also formed a human chain which was joined by locals of Kakching Khunou, Thongam, Umathel, Tokpachinggi meira paibis, students of Brighter Academy, Kakching Khunou, Khomdonbi Memorial English School, Kakching Khunou, Emmanuel Mission English School, Kakching Khunou Makha High School, kakching Khunou Government High School, Holy Cross English School and members of local clubs and organisations.
On the other hand, a torch rally was organised last night by the meira paibis of Thoubal Bamon Leirak and Mayai Leirak in Thoubal Bazar.
