Committee condemns

Women Action Committee for Village Protection, Cachar, Assam has condemned the atrocities committed by security forces since the beginning of the rest.
Speaking to media persons during a press conference, Konthoujam Sunita, president, Women Action Committee for Village Protection, Cachar, Assam decried the acts of physical assault on civilians, firing tear gas shells and mock bombs in residential areas perpetuated by the central and State security forces.
Stating that Meitei womenfolk from beyond the State strongly oppose such actions, she shared that the Committee will not remain mute if the intensity of such brutal acts continues to increase.
She then urged the Central and State Government to mull over the consequences if such atrocities continue unabated.
Further she also appealed for a speedy resolution to the ongoing conflict.
The press conference was also attended by Women Action Committee for Village Protection, Cachar, Assam vice-presidents Nivarani and Sujita and general secretary Lily Sharma as well as other members of the Committee.
