Locals of Kongba Kshetri Leikai and guardians of a class XII student of Millennium Institute of Science (MIS), Pangambam Sanajaoba Singh, have demanded the authority concerned to award befitting punishment to three teachers of the school who allegedly manhandled and harassed the student on May 26.Speaking to media persons at Youth Guidance Club, Kongba Kshetri Leikai, today, an executive member of the club, L Somorjit alleged that the teachers and staff of MIS used the students of the school to shield themselves from legal action.
He further alleged that the school authority misguided the students and manipulated them to react against the FIR lodged against the teachers involved in the alleged assault case.
Terming the alleged brutal assault of Sanajaoba by the teachers as inhuman and a blatant violation of the RTE Act, Somorjit claimed that the school authority has not provided a room for negotiation on reasonable ground, although it repeatedly claimed through media that the door is wide open for a peaceful solution.
Asserting that the any student and their parents would strongly react if the same incident happened to them or to their children, he contended that it is the right step to fight for delivering justice to Sanajaoba.
Somorj it informed that the three teachers who are allegedly involved in the assault case have been seeking anticipatory bail after the parents of Sanajaoba filed an FIR against them at Lamphel PS .
