Goods train set to reach Khongshang today

The first goods train carrying essential items is scheduled to reach Khongshang railway station in Noney district on Monday, which will help mitigate scarcity of essential commodities in view of the prevailing situation in the state.
In a notification, Transport Department director (Transport) Dr Nivedita Lairenlakpam informed that the goods train arriving at Khongshang railway station will be the maiden movement of commercial goads by trait, in the history of Manipur.
The rake will consist of 12 BCN wagons, comprising essential commodities like potato, onion, rice and other food products.
The goods train was flagged off on Sunday from New Guwahati NF railways station.
Chief minister N Biren is likely to visit Khongshang Railway station on Monday in helicopter in connection with the arrival of the first goods train.
On the other hand, in another notification, the director notified that an additional sortie has been scheduled for the route Imphal-Churachan-dpur-Imphal on July 24 (Monday) in addition to the previous planned sorties for the same day.
The director further advised the public to contact Manipur Heli Service through contact number 9774977856 or th^ffice of the Chu-rachandpur district deputy commissioner for booking of tickets.
