Imphal, March 26 2025: The Valley & Hill Labour Union Group, Manipur has appealed relevant authority to distribute the children's education benefit afforded to offsprings of labour card holders for the year 2022.Speaking to.

media persons at Manipur Press Club today, Th Sakhi Devi, general secretary, Valley & Hill Labour Union Group, Manipur said that the children's education benefit given to two offsprings of construction workers has been disbursed for 2021 .

Unfortunately, the same benefits have not been distributed for 2022, though the necessary documents were submitted a long time ago, said Th Sakhi.

This is posing a huge challenge to the education of children of construction labourers as they are not only deprived of the benefits, but the workers are also facing hurdles in earning a livelihood due to the ongoing conflict.

On another note, Th Sakhi also pointed out that the processing of documents of construction workers from 2023 till date has been pending at the Manipur Building & Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board.

With this, she appealed for immediate resumption of the renewal process at the Board.

It may be noted that the Group had also submitted a memorandum to Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla apprising him of their grievances on February 21, 2025 .
