UAL, UNAL appeal to halt donation drives

Imphal, July 24 2024: The Uripok Apunba Lup (UAL) and Uripok Nupi Apunba Lup (UNAL) have appealed to all the organisations that are not from the Uripok area to stop gathering donations and financial assistance in the area.

In a joint statement, UAL and UNAL said that since the conflict began on May 3, 2023, the two organisations have been actively involved in humanitarian efforts to support the people living in peripheral areas of the valley districts and the internally displaced people (IDP) taking shelter in relief camps opened at different places.

UAL, UNAL mentioned that the two organisations have been constantly collaborating with the Committee of Lamboikhongnangkhong Trade & Expo Center relief camp to assist the IDP staying there.

UAL, UNAL asserted that they are also helping a 17-year-old girl (inmate of relief camp) who is suffering from a serious illness receive medical treatment in Guwahati.

UAL, UNAL further pointed out that all the humanitarian activities were carried out with the assistance of Meira Paibis, local clubs and residents of the Uripok area.
