Jiribam (Imphal East), December 26 2015 :
The All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU), District Committee, Jiribam has today resolved to suspend its agitation in connection with the demand to make Jiribam College as full-fledged Government college till January 25, reports our correspondent.
Speaking to media persons today, AMSU, District Committee, Jiribam president Y Sanjib Singh said that the decision to suspend the stir was unanimously taken considering the public interest.
However, if the State Government fails to fulfil their demand within January 25, rigorous forms of agitation will be launched thereafter.
As part of the agitation, the union had earlier closed down Government offices in Jiribam from December 15 to December 25.However, none of the representatives of the State Government and the local MLA approached to address the grievance of the student body, Y Sanjib said.
Neglecting such demand which has been put forth in order to provide a better platform for students to learn, share knowledge and excel is very unfortunate, he added.
