The proscribed UNLF has claimed its hands in the bomb blasts which targeted a car (i-20) belonging to one Sikander Shah at Major Khul and Punya Hyundai showroom on December 24 .
According to a press release issued by the outfit's department of publicity director M Sak-hen, Sikander Shah's car was damaged for challenging the party and passing information to adversary forces with an intention to get some party cadres arrested.
Sikander should give in to the party otherwise the party may be constrained to take up drastic steps like shutting down all his business activities and even banishment from the soil of Manipur.
It is said that Sikander Shah is a cement and steal dealer who has his store at Kalibari, Thangal Bazar.
The bomb blast inside the compound of Punya Hyundai showroom at Chingmeirong, Dingku Road was a warning to proprietor Mangsatabam Andy and his associates for not giving any attention to the party's notice and not responding to the party's efforts to talk about the matter.
The party would take up more violent steps if the proprietor and his associates continue challenging the party.
It then appeal to all the people to refrain from holding protest demonstrations and other activities which may project the liberation movement in the wrong light.
As the party is always committed to avoiding casualties to civilians as far as possible, the outfit set off the bomb in the night, it said.
Nonetheless, the outfit conveyed regret to disturbing tranquillity of Major Khul.
