Junior Red Cross units inaugurated

Junior Red Cross (JRC) Units were inaugurated at Ruda Academy and Chaoyaima Higher Secondary School in Thoubal district today.
The Junior Red Cross units were inaugurated by the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Manipur State Branch and IRCS Thoubal District Branch as a part of the ongoing month-long observation of World Red Cross Day 2024, said a press statement by IRCS, Manipur State Branch.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by IRCS State Branch Chairman Narendra Ningomba and IRCS Thoubal District Branch Chairman Dr Ksh Manglem as the presidium members.
The event was also attended by IRCS State Branch honorary secretary Athokpam Nabachandra, JRC Coordinator Jadu Khundongbam, IRCS Thoubal District Branch honorary secretary Kangabam Sadananda and IRCS volunteers.
As a part of the programme, a one-day basic first aid training was conducted for the Junior Red Cross units volunteers.
During the programme, the resource persons spoke at length about the Red Cross, added the press statement.
