VDF Employees' Welfare Association appeals

Imphal, July 24 2024: Imphal West District VDF Employees' Welfare Association (IWDVDFEWA) has urged the State Government to pass concrete resolutions to address their issues in the upcoming sixth session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly will be held from July 31 to August 12 .

According to a press release issued by Y Pusparaj Singh, publicity secretary, IWDVDFEWA, VDF personnel of Imphal West district gathered for a joint meeting on July 21 .

Welcoming the recent State Cabinet decision allowing transfer of VDF personnels beyond their respective districts to any region in the State, IWDVDFEWA interjected that this decision should be accompanied with in amendment of the VDF service rules and an increase in their monthly remuneration which currently stands at Rs 10,000.In case the State Cabinet fails to deliver their demands, the gathering of Imphal West District VDF personnel has resolved to extend their support to any decision or protest launched by the All Manipur VDF Employees Welfare Association Central Committee, said the release.

IWDVDFEWA also pointed out the role played by the VDF personnel in protecting people and their properties and maintaining law and order in the midst of the current restive situation in the State.

Notably, IWDVDFEWA stressed on the hardships faced by the VDF personnel in making ends meet, educating their children and taking care of aged parents with a monthly salary of Rs 10,000 .
