The programme was held in collaboration with Ningol Club and Apunba Thouna Village Level Federation (VLF), and was sponsored by the EcoClimate Conservation Network, Manipur.

Speaking on the occasion, Head Scientist Sinam Subharani urged the gathering to take up sericulture more earnestly as a means to enhance household income.
She stated that the purpose of the programme was to provide valuable inputs and create awareness about adopting modem scientific techniques in sericulture, rather than relying solely on traditional practices of silkworm rearing.
She noted that sericulture has been practised since early times, but emphasised the need to adopt improved technologies to rear silkworms on a larger scale for higher productivity and income generation.
She also assured that the Central Silk Board - RSRS, Imphal, would extend all possible support to farmers interested in the sector.
The programme concluded with an interactive session between experts and farmers, during which several queries raised by participants were addressed by the experts.
