Imphal, October 09 2021: BJP National president Jagat Prakash Nadda has categorically stated that the North East region, which had been sidelined for many years, is turning into the gateway of development with the coming of the saffron party to power.

Speaking to media persons during a felicitation ceremony organised by BJP Manipur Pradesh at SAI ground, Utlou in his honour, JP Nadda continued that the developmental projects and schemes implemented by the BJP will be remembered by future generations.

Stating that Manipur is moving forward with new commitment and inspiration under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N Biren Singh, the BJP National president cautioned that all will be lost if the people of Manipur take a wrong decision at this critical moment.

Without mentioning any name in particular, JP Nadda also said that bandh, blockade, corruption and homicide were frequent in every nook and corner of Manipur before the BJP led Government came to power here.

"Now, Manipur is focusing on innovation, connectivity and infrastructure expansion under the governance of BJP," he added.

Stating that peace is a by-product of good governance, JP Nadda claimed that misfortune will be widespread in the State again if the people of Manipur take the wrong decision.

On women empowerment, the BJP National president stated that the NDA Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has constructed over 11 crore toilets, including 2 .7 lakh at Manipur under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and provided free LPG connection to a vast number of poor households.

"Under Ayushman Bharat scheme, the NDA Government has also provided free health care benefits worth upto Rs 5 lakh to crores of families in India while Chief Minister N Biren Singh started Chief Minister Haksel gi Tengbang for those who were not covered by Ayushman Bharat," he maintained.

Continuing that it was BJP that implemented the Inner Line Permit System (ILPS) in Manipur to save its identity and resources, JP Nadda stated that the NDA Government has constructed National Sports University and multi sports complex in Manipur.

He further said that the BJP Government has so far implemented over 300 projects in Manipur and is preparing to launch 30 more.

On the Railway project, JP Nadda informed that Manipur will soon be a part of the global railway map with the completion of Imphal-Jiribam railway project.

"Railways doesn't mean connectivity only, it is a sign of development," he said.

Chief Minister N Biren, in his speech, said that law and order of Manipur has improved considerably with the coming of the BJP Government.

He stated that the BJP led Government has inaugurated at least 10 market sheds in the hill and valley districts of Manipur and will construct another market shed at Lilong.

Saying that good Government is the one that works in the interest of the people, the CM exuded confidence that the people will vote the people oriented political party to power in the forthcoming State Assembly election.

The felicitation ceremony was also attended by Union Minister of State for External Affairs Dr RK Ranjan; Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba, Works Minister Th Biswajit, BJP Manipur president A Sharda Devi, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik, BJP election Co-in-charge of Manipur Ashok Singhal, BJP North East Zonal secretary Ajay Jamwal, BJP in charge for Manipur Dr Sambit Patra and BJP general secretary (organisation) Abhay Kumar Giri.

JP Nadda was received by Chief Minister N Biren Singh and A Sharda Devi at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport today on his arrival.
