New Delhi, August 08 2011:
Taking the outcry against the Sangakpham bomb blast on August 8 to the capital, the Manipur Students' Association, Delhi (MSAD) organised a sit in demonstration at Delhi today afternoon.
Representatives of the International Manipuri Mothers' Association (IMMA) who have been camping in Delhi since the month of June to demand the pepeal of AFSPA also took part in the sit in demonstration.
The Sangakpham Bazar bomb blast on August 1 killed five persons including two girl students while eight others sustained injuries.
A memorandum along with endorsement from civil societies was submitted to the Prime Minister, Home Minister and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
A hand out prepared by the student body and handed out to the public stated that killing operandi continues without any restraint in Manipur.
No organisation / individual has claimed responsibility for the blast although the State Chief Minister Okram Ibobi has held the insurgent party NSCN-IM as responsible for the bomb blast.

The NSCN (IM) had subsequently debunked the allegations raised by the State Government as well as by Union Home Minister.
The statement said "Sangakpham incident was not the beginning and may not be the last one unless terrorism as an institution is rooted out," and added "terrorists are operating amongst the people of Manipur if not ruling over them in varied forms" .
Such acts of terrorism or terrorism as an institutionalised form is largely perpetrated by the Indian State, the non-State and State agents, said the hand out.
Malem Ningthouja who coordinated the demonstration said, "We are not passing any judgement against anyone in connection with the Sangakpham blast on August 1 .
We are condemning all forms of killing by both State and non State" .
On account of the condemnation and protest over the blast incident Ningjouja said "People are being blindly motivated and organized.
We want the civil societies in Manipur to take non-partisan position and collectively work when it comes to the question of targeting innocent civilians or terrorism in any form by any force" said Malem Ninghouja.
