MU impasse: MUTA stage protest, VC form committee to initiate talk with students

Manipur University Teachers' Association (MUTA) today stage a sit-in-protest in the Manipur University Complex over the Vice Chancellor AP Pandey silence on the series of allegation levelled against him by the Manipur University Students' Union (MUSU) .
The MUTA in a meeting had urged the VC to clarify the allegations levelled against him .
However the VC Adaya Prasad Pandey remain silence without spelling a single words even the agitations by the students enters 10 days.

Hemakumar Singh, Principal (i/c) MIT , and Prof..MShyamkesho Singh, Registrar (i/c) has been formed by the VC to initiate talk with the students today

MUSU's office bearers while talking to this newspaper said that the initiative is okay but he are not sure whether to talk with the committee or not.
"We will have a meeting and as our main demand is for removal of the VC we cannot make any decision on whether to initiate talk with the newly form committee or not.
It will be only decided after a meeting of the executive body of the Manipur University .
MUTA had earlier stated that as the VC fails to clarify the allegation they will stage protest against him today .
The statement of the in-charge registrar said that separate letters were issued to the MUSU office bearers by the university authority appealing to hold a meeting in the Guest House of the Manipur University on the 9th June, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.Unfortunately , the office bearers of MUSU declined to participate in the meeting, the statement added.
