218 candidates file nomination papers

So far 218 candidates have filed nomination papers for the ensuing ADC election.
They include 61 Congress candidates, 29 BJP candidates, 46 NPF men, 79 independents and three others.
Number of candidates who have filed their nomination papers in Chandel ADC are Congress 13, NPF 12, BJP four and 23 independents.
For Tamenglong ADC, the figures are Congress 16, BJP 9, NPF 10 and six Independents.
For Churachandpur ADC, the figures are Congress three, 28 Independents and Others one.
Number of candidates who have filed their nomination papers in Ukhrul ADC are Congress nine, NPF 13, BJP one and six Independents.

For Sadar Hills ADC, 20 Congress candidates, 14 Independent candidates, 11 BJP contenders, two belonging to Others and 14 have filed their nomination papers till date.
In Senapati ADC, six NPF candidates, four BJP candidates and two Independent candidates have already filed their nomination papers.
Our Correspondet reports from CCpur : On day two of the ADC polls nomination window, Churachandpur witnessed three Congressmen, one LJP and 28 Independent candidates filing their nominations, taking the total nominations for the 24 ADC constituencies to 34 .
There is still no turn-up for 9 DCCs including the entire 3 seats for Tipaimukh subdivision, though four more are still seeking nomination papers.
Although the BJP had announced its list of candidates before the Congress party did, candidates from the party are yet to file their nominations.
Incumbent vice-chairman, Demmang Haokip, sitting member from Henglep DCC Paolal Haokip and a new face, Letkhomang who filed his nomination for Khousabung DCC, are the only three Congress candidates to have filed their nominations.
The LJP's lone man Ginkhojam filed his nomination for Zenhang Lamka seat.
Prominent among the 30 odd Independent candidates who have filed their nominations so far include sitting Muallum DCC member Jamneihching and Lungthul DCC member G Suansuanchinpau.
They both won the last election uncontested on the INC ticket but their names have been missing in the Congress list this time.
The DCC wise break up of Independent nominations are � Thanlon 1, Ngazam 3, Lanva 3, Tuibuang 1, Hiangtam Lamka 3, New Lamka West 4, New Lamka East 2, Zenhang Lamka 3, Haopi Range 2, Lungthul 1, Muallum 5, and 2 in Singngat DCC.
The nine DCCs still to receive any nomination include Tuivai, the home turf of incumbent chairman Langkhanpau Guite, Chongkhozou, Kholmun, Saikot, Sagang, Sangaikot, and the three DCCs of Tipaimukh � Parbung, Vangai and Senvon.
Meanwhile, Amana Thaimei has tendered his resignation from the BJP today.
Amana submitted his resignation to the president of BJP Manipur.
At the same time, Amana Thaimei said that he would contest the ADC election from 14-Tingtong Laijang Circle DCC as an Independent candidate.
