2 days FoSTaC programme begins

As a part of Eat Right initiative of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), a 2 day basic training of Food Safety Supervisor under Food Safety Training Certification (FoSTaC) began today at the conference hall of Chief Medical Officer, Imphal East.
The inaugural function of the training programme which is conducted under the supervision of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi was attended by Th Sunilkumar Singh, Designated Officer (Food Safety Admn)/ Nodal Officer of Eat Right Challenge, Imphal East; Dr Thongam Chanu Anel, Asst Professor , Department of Food Technology, S Kula Women's College; S Puspalata Devi, Food Safety Officer, Food Safety Administration, Imphal East and S Romita Devi, Food Safety Officer, Food Safety Administration, Imphal East.
At the function, Th Sunilkumar said that FSSAI sent a letter to them, directing non issuance or cancellation of licenses to Food Business Operators who don't attend the training programme.
Saying that there are other penalties for not attending the training programme, he added that FSSAI had started penalising licensed food operators for not obeying due protocols.
He also appealed to the public to refrain from consuming packaged foods not approved by FSSAI.
