Traffic advisory issued for Minuthong-Checkon road

Imphal, October 27 2026: The Superintendent of Police, Traffic Control Police Wing, Manipur, has issued a traffic advisory in view of Short Panel Concrete (SPC) work on the western side road from Minuthong Traffic Island to Checkon Traffic Island.

According to the advisory, the western side road from Minuthong Traffic Island to Checkon Traffic Island will remain closed for traffic with effect from October 27, 2026 till completion of the work.

During the period, the eastern side of the same stretch will accommodate traffic moving in both directions.

Road users have been advised to proceed slowly, maintain lane discipline and follow directions of traffic personnel.

All residents, vendors, shopkeepers, establishments and members of the public have been requested not to park vehicles along the eastern side of the road as roadside parking will obstruct the carriageway and lead to congestion.

The advisory further stated that traffic congestion and delays are expected at many roads and junctions due to reduced roadway, heavy vehicles will be restricted from using the temporary two-way stretch and traffic may be diverted if necessary depending on traffic volume.

Road users have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly and use alternate routes wherever possible and cooperate with traffic personnel.
