Imphal, November 09 2008:
THE FIRST State Level Men's Chingsubam Akaba Memorial Marathon Race was organised today as part of the 64th birth anniversary of the people's leader, Chingsubam Akaba.
One hundred twenty five young men took part in today's 21 kilometre long marathon race which began from Wakha Leima Cheeng in Imphal East district.
Manipur king Leishemba Sanajaoba flagged off the race from the top of the hill known as Wakha Leima Cheeng where the late leader, Ch Akaba was laid to rest.
The destination of the race was the Citizens' Club ground, Soibam Leikai where the prize distribution ceremony was held.
