The first phase of Census 2011 operation, House listing, completed in Manipur and ground preparations for the commencement of second phase exercise from February next year has started.
Meanwhile, another Cabinet meeting scheduled tomorrow will discuss overlapping in the census and abnormal increase in house listing.
The Cabinet had also discussed the matter yesterday.
The house listing exercise which was conducted as first phase of Census Operation 2011 in the state was started from June this year with a target to complete by August 30 .
But it was delayed due to unrest conditions prevailed in the state and had to continue till this current month, September.
Even though the field exercises had almost concluded, the exact figure of the houses for the whole state is yet to be finalized, an official source from the state Census Operation said.

Government is seems taking serious note on preventing census overlapping and irregularities as state had already experiences abnormal increase in the number of heads in some parts of hill district in 2001 Census Operation.
This time government is trying its best to prevent any overlapping and irregularities in the Census Operation for the state of Manipur so as not to repeat the same mistake in the Census Operation 2001, the source maintained.
Census exercise in Manipur is receiving disturbances in hill areas, particularly in Churachandpur district, when civil and students' bodies demanding maintenance of original district boundary on the basis of village boundaries that fall within the jurisdiction of the hill district at the time of conduct of the General Census Operation, 2011 .
