Imphal, November 09 2008:
INDIA AND Mynamar have officially agreed to turn the Indo-Myanmar border trade through Moreh town of Manipur and Jokhathar of Mizoram into an open regular trade.
Except for a few contraband items, all other items would be allowed to trade on the level of most favoured nations.
The present 22 items would be increased to 40 .
The agreement between the two countries was signed at a summit of Indo-Myanmar Joint Trade Committee held last month in Mandalay.
MoS for Commerce and Power, Jairam Ramesh on Indian side and Commerce Minister Nyen Tin Nye The on Myanmarese side signed the agreement.
