Assam Rifles celebrates 76th Republic Day

Assam Rifles, commemorated India's 76th Republic Day on Sunday with a series of patriotic events across multiple districts in Manipur including Imphal West, Imphal East, Chandel, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Kangpokpi, Kakching, Churachandpur, Ukhrul and Kamjong.
According to a release issued by IGAR (South), these celebrations aimed to bolster national pride, strengthen community bonds, and honour the nation's heritage.
At Imphal West, Thoubal, Bishnupur and Kangpokpi District the 76th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at all Company Operating Bases in Manipur.
The event was marked by wreath laying and solemn flag hoisting ceremony symbolizing the unity, sovereignty, and pride of the nation.

Celebrations were held at Mantripukhri, Imphal West District, Thoubal District, Komlakhong (Imphal West District), Iringbam (Bishnupur District), Oinam Relief Camp (Bishnupur District), Waroiching (Kangpokpi District), and L.Koirang (Imphal West District), reaffirming the force's commitment to fostering peace and unity in the region.
In Chandel District, the festivities commence with the unfurling of the National Flag and the singing of the National Anthem in villages such as Sajik Tampak, Sehlon, and Aibol Joupi.
The day featured patriotic songs, cultural dances, sports events like volleyball and football matches, and interactions with ex-servicemen.
A movie screening was also organized, engaging numerous locals.
In Thoubal and Kakching Districts, an Ex-Servicemen (ESM) meet was held at Sugnu, focusing on veterans' challenges and sharing updates on re-employment policies.
At Bengali Primary School in Serou Part II, students interacted with veterans during a flag unfurling ceremony, inspiring patriotism among the youth.
At Chandel and Tengnoupal Districts, Assam Rifles organized Republic Day celebrations at Larong, Yangoubung, and D Zalenbung.
The events included the unfurling of the National Tricolor, collective singing of the National Anthem by 500 attendees, a friendly volleyball match, and distribution of blankets to the elderly and marginalized individuals.
Meanwhile at Churachandpur, at the Sangaikot Assam Rifles camp, Republic Day was celebrated with internally displaced persons (IDPs) and local residents.
Activities included a drawing competition for children from the relief center, a screening of a patriotic movie for IDPs, and a security meeting with village chiefs to review the area's security situation.
In Ukhrul and Kamjong Districts, Assam Rifles celebrated the day by hoisting the National Flag at various Company Operating Bases, including Shangshak, Chassad, and Somsai.
The "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign was promoted by distributing national flags to villagers and students.
A cultural program featuring students from Assam Rifles Public School showcased patriotic songs, dances, and skits.
These initiatives by the Assam Rifles underscore their commitment to fostering unity, patriotism, and community engagement across Manipur.
