Enforcement & awareness drive marks NRSM 2026

Imphal, January 14 2026: As part of the nationwide observance of "National Road Safety Month (NRSM) 2026 - Sadak Suraksha, Jeevan Raksha", the District Administration, Imphal West is conducting a series of enforcement and awareness initiatives throughout the month of January, 2026.Today, a special drive was conducted near Kwakeithel Police Outpost to check traffic rule violations.

The drive was led by Keisham Jadumani Singh, Additional District Magistrate, Imphal West, in close coordination with the Police, Traffic Police Control Wing and District Transport Office, said a release.

During the drive, motorists and commuters were sensitized on road safety norms, traffic rules and regulations, and the importance of responsible driving.

Special emphasis was laid on common traffic violations and preventive measures to reduce road accidents such as wearing seat belts, helmets, etc.

Similar awareness drives will be carried out at various locations across the district during'the month, including DC Imphal West Road, Kangla Western Gate, Wahengbam Leikai Parking Area, Singjamei Police Station, Kakwa, as part of the sustained effort to promote road safety and ensure compliance with traffic regulations.
