Month-long birth anniversary of Hijam Irawat from September 1

Imphal, August 27 2024: The 129th birth anniversary of Jananeta Irawat will be celebrated for a month from September 1 to September 30, said the celebration committee.

The Irawat Celebration Committee (ICC), Manipur, in a statement, said the month-long celebration will be observed under the banner "Manipurgi Apunba Shaktam Ngaknaba Thabum" .

The observance will commemorate the sacrifice of Hijam Irawat and asserts the importance of protecting the integrity of the State, said the committee.

The month-long observance will kick off at Irawat Bhawan by paying floral tribute to the statue of Hijam Irawat.

The observance will then reach other districts and localities.

September 26 will be marked as State Mourn Day, and September 30 will see march past, and varieties of programmes felicitating achievers in various fields, said the committee.
