Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh: TRI to organise photography, short film challenge

The Tribal Research Institute (TRI), TA & Hills Department has invited tribal filmmakers, aspiring creators, and storytellers from Manipur to participate in the Tribal Frames 2025: Manipur Short Film Challenge.
As per a release issued by TRI, the short film competition celebrating the arts, traditions, rituals, and crafts of indigenous communities is being organised as part of Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh with the support of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India.
Tribal Frames trophies, certificates and cash awards will be presented to the top three winners of the competition.
The films (10 minutes or less) must focus on the life, culture, arts, crafts, traditions, or heritage of the tribal communities of Manipur.
All genres- fiction, documentary, experimental, or hybrid will be accepted for the competition.
The last for submission is September 15, 2025.Moreover, TRI is also organising a State Level Photography Competition as part pf Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh, to showcase the rich tribal heritage of Manipur through photography.
The competition will be conducted in three categories namely Tribal Costumes-Traditional attire, ornaments, and body art; Tribal Festivals -Celebrations, dances, rituals, and performances; and Tribal Lifestyle- Daily life, customs, work, homes, and community practices.
Tribal Lens trophies, certificates and cash awards will be presented to the top three winners.
