AITUC to observe May Day at THAU ground

Imphal, April 29 2024: The All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), Manipur will be observing the International Workers' Day or May Day at THAU ground in Thangmeiband, Imphal on May 1, 2024 .

Addressing a press conference yesterday at Irawat Bhawa, L Sotinkumar, general secretary, AITUC Manipur, said that representatives of more than 64 worker/ labour organisations will be participating in the 135th May Day celebration to honour the achievements and contributions of the working class.

He continued that many significant decisions about the rights & demands of the working class will be taken on the day.

Sotinkumar also shared that various long standing demands raised by the labourers of the State such as establishment of Highway Protection Force, increasing daily wage to Rs 600 and number of working days under MGNREGS to 100, etc.
