86th CRPF Raising Day celebrated with patriotic fervour

The 87th Raising Day of Central Reserve Police Force was observed today at Group Centre, CRPF, Imphal in honour of the immense and unparalleled contribution of the force in upholding the unity, integrity, and sovereignty of the Nation.
During the solemn ceremony, the Inspector General, Manipur & Nagaland Sector, CRPF laid wreath at the Martyrs Memorial located in the campus of Group Centre Imphal, paid rich tributes to all the bravehearts of the Force for their supreme sacrifices in the line of duty.
He also extended his best wishes to the personnel and their families on the momentous occasion of 87th Raising Day.
While addressing the Sainik Sammelan, the IG read out the message of DG to the force personnel and emphasised on the pivotal role of the Force in maintaining law and order situation in Manipur.
He urged everyone to honour its rich legacy and to serve the country with utmost devotion and the spirit of "Nation First".
Additionally, an investiture ceremony was organised and the IG decorated the officers and personnel who were awarded the Director General's Disc and Commendation Certificate for their valuable contribution in peaceful conduct of General Parliament Election 2024.Various sport activities including a friendly football match, painting competition for the children and a ceremonial feast "Barakhana" where all officers and jawans dined together were also organised to mark the occasion.
Moreover, the 143 Battalion, CRPF, deployed in Lamphelpat, Imphal also celebrated the 87th Raising Day of CRPF with great enthusiasm and fervor, marked by a series of vibrant programmes.
The day began with Cycle Rally from HQ/143 Bn Lamphelpat to Kangla Fort via Governor Road, Keishampat Junction, Kwakirful chowk, FCI Godown and back with an aim to spread fitness awareness across the society under Khelo India's FIT INDIA initiative.
It was followed by a mass tree plantation drive at the Directorate of Fisheries, Manipur, in which T Phulen Meitei, Director of Fisheries; Laishram Jayaranai, Assistant Director of Fisheries; Hemchandra N, Project Officer and other officials were also present.
Further, a wreath- laying ceremony at the Martyr's Memorial followed by silent homage to the martyrs of CRPF at Bn Headquarter were also held.
A Sainik Sammelan was also organised.
At the event, Ravinder Sharma, Commandant, 143 Bn CRPF, highlighted the sacrifices, valour and dedication of the brave personnel who served the force since its inception in 1939.He also praised the role played by the CRPF in maintaining law and order, counter insurgency and rendering humanitarian aid, inspiring the gathering to continue upholding the highest standard of service and patriotism.
As a part of the celebrations, a blood donation camp was also organised in collaboration with the Blood Bank Department, RIMS, Imphal.
Altogether, 33 CRPF personnel donated blood with a motive to inspire and educate the people, dispel misconceptions and promote a culture of giving and social responsibility.
The camp was conducted under the supervision of Dr N Sanjit Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS; and Dr Pratima Kh, Head, Department of Transfusion Medicine.
