Chief Secretary inaugurates first SBI branch of Saikul Assembly Constituency

The first State Bank of India (SBI), branch of Saikul Assembly Constituency was virtually inaugurated today by Chief Secretary of Manipur, Prashant Kumar Singh from the SBI Regional Business Office, Babupara, Imphal.
The virtual inauguration ceremony at Babupara Imphal was graced by distinguished guests, including Director of Institutional Finance, Government of Manipur, Ranjan Yumnam, Regional Manager, SBI RBO Imphal, Khumukcham Okendro Singh and Assistant General Manager, SBI Imphal Branch Moirangthem Devakishore Singh.
The same ceremony simultaneously held at Saikul was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kangpokpi Shokhongam Baite, MCS along with Civil Society leaders and members of the community.
While delivering his speech on the occasion, Chief Secretary of Manipur, Prashant Kumar Singh emphasized for importance of expanding banking infrastructure in underserved areas of the State for bringing socio-economic development of the regions.
He commended SBI officials for their efforts in setting up this branch (i.e Saikul SBI branch, the 66th SBI branch) in Manipur to serve the people of Saikul.
He advised SBI to set up its own administrative infrastructure to accommodate the growing number of branches and enhance customer service and assured the state's full support in facilitating necessary administrative and regulatory approvals.
Further, Prashant Kumar Singh advised to scale up the sanction and disbursement of PM Surya Ghar loans in Manipur and State Bank of India (SBI) to take the lead in this, which he stated that he earlier had discussed with concerned authorities, Challa Sreenivasulu Setty, Chairman, State Bank of India, and S Radhakrishnan, Chief General Manager, Guwahati Circle.
Regional Manager, SBI RBO Imphal, Khumukcham Okendro Singh appreciated SBI official's dedication to providing seamless banking solutions and fostering economic growth through the new branch.
He urged the local population to take full advantage of the banking services offered, including savings and current accounts, agricultural and business loans, and digital banking facilities.
It may be mentioned that the establishment of the SBI, Saikul Branch marks a significant step toward enhancing financial inclusion in Manipur.
The State Bank of India (SBI) Saikul branch is located approximately 22 km.
from Kangpokpi District Headquarters and 17 km from Sapormeina and the branch is the first in the Saikul Assembly Constituency and the fifth
in Kangpokpi District.
