Imphal, February 07 2016:
The Thadou Students'
Association, Bengaluru
(TSA-B) has vehemently
condemned the inhumane act
of the mob, allegedly
comprising of Bengalureans
locals, who severely
thrashed, stripped and
paraded naked a 21 year old
BBA student of Acharya
College from Tanzania in
Ganapathinagar, Bengaluru
area, on January 31.
TSA-B in a statement,
has also condoled the death
of the 21-year-old.
The statement made by
the G Parmeshwara, Home
Minister of Karnataka that
the attack was not racist
and that the woman was
not stripped or paraded
naked is unfounded and
irrational, the association
stated.
The delay in the
filing of the complaint
shows the unequal treat-
ment of the city police.
The Government, so far,
has not taken any measure
to ensure safety for the
non-locals of Namma
Bengaluru eventhough a
retired DCP D'Souza has
been assigned as a nodal
officer for the North East
people.
In spite of repetitive
appeals since its inception
by the TSA-B to the local
people for harmony in the
city, peaceful co-existence
for the people living in the
city is still a dream.
