AMBA seeks amendment of MJS rules

The All Manipur Bar Association (AMBA) has urged the Chief Minister to amend the Manipur Judicial Service Rules, 2005 while seeking his intervention in rectifying the irregularities in Manipur Judicial Service (MJS) officers.
AMBA has submitted a memorandum in this regard to the CM.
AMBA urged the CM to reduce the eligibility cut off marks of UR category to 50 pc from the present 60 pc and to 45 pc from the present 50 pc for SC/ST category through suitable amendment of the provisions of the MJS Rules, 2005 .
It also demanded amendment of the proviso of Clause (3) of Schedule B of the MJS Rules 2005 by specifying that such relaxation of marks for SC/ST category is for reserved category of posts only.
AMBA also urged the CM to look into the various irregularities committed during the recruitment process in different grades of the MJS for the sake of justice.
At the same time, AMBA has urged the Chief Justice, Manipur High Court to recall the notification dated August 21, 2015 and reissue of the same notification after rectifying the notification for recruitment of three MJS grade-I UR posts by fixing the marks to be eligible for interview for all categories of candidates uniformly at 50 pc within a period of seven days.
AMBA urged the Chief Justice to keep the recruitment in abeyance till the amendment of the relevant portion of the MJS Rules, 2005 is effectuated by the Govt of Manipur.
