Indian Army enhances sports infrastructure at Chalou Lamlai

Imphal, November 04 2026: The Spear Corps of the Indian Army has completed a key community development initiative under Operation Sadbhavana at Chalou Lamlai, Manipur, aimed at promoting sports and empowering local youth.

As part of the project, floodlights were installed at the village football ground yesterday, enabling the youth to engage in sporting activities beyond daylight hours.

Additionally, a dedicated storeroom was constructed for the Chalou Youth Union Club, alongside essential infrastructure upgrades to better support local athletic training.

The initiative aims to provide enhanced sporting facilities, encourage greater community participation, and nurture raw athletic talent.

The upgraded infrastructure is expected to promote fitness, discipline, and teamwork, while providing a constructive platform for youth to channelize their energy.

Through Operation Sadbhavana, the Spear Corps continues to focus on youth empowerment and community development, reaffirming the Indian Army's commitment to fostering goodwill and peace in Manipur.
